METAL MILLING

The types of machining include turning, planing, drilling, milling, grinding, and more. All of the above types of processing are performed using metal-cutting machines, using a variety of cutting tools – cutters, drills, cutters, and much more. But all these cutting processes are based on turning, and a turning tool is used as a cutting tool

To perform cutting, two movements are required - the main (working) movement and the feed movement. The main movement in turning is the rotational movement of the workpiece. In the milling process, the main movement is the rotation of the cutter. The cutting speed directly depends on the speed of the main movement.

The feed motion during turning is the translational movement of the cutter in the longitudinal or transverse direction. In the process of milling, the feed movement is a smooth change in the position of the manufactured product in the longitudinal, transverse, or vertical direction. When cutting, new surfaces are created by changing and further separating the surface layers with the help of chips.
