TURNING
Customers quite often ask for the service of processing on lathes. Thanks to turning and milling metal processing, it becomes possible to save material, and obtain various parts, the use of which is possible in any field. One of the main niches that is occupied in mechanical engineering is the production of shafts.

Technological operations performed by turning
Turning is used to perform the following technological operations:
- sharpening of conical or cylindrical parts;
- processing of metal ends or ledges;
- cutting blanks and grooves for fasteners;
- creating corrugated surfaces on metal surfaces;
- threading (internal and external), their diameter can be very different;
- sharpening of internal surfaces;
- countersinking of holes;
- production of stepped shafts.
For turning on CNC machines, it is necessary to use equipment of exceptionally high quality. Only in such cases will there be a guarantee of high-quality performance of all work, and all parts will be made with maximum precision.
Variety of machines used
All machines that we have at our disposal are divided into three types:
- Universal
They are very popular among other varieties. With their help, it is possible to perform more than 80% of operations, and this power is quite enough for most of the orders. For example, to perform turning and turning works, universal machines are used, with the help of which both small and large enough parts can be processed.
- Special
They are used exclusively when there is a need to produce numerous parts that have the same size and appearance. When executing such an order, the machine is configured according to the set parameters, and then the machine operates in automatic mode. The workflow is controlled by an employee who is laying new batches of blanks.
- Specialized
Used for processing large batches. Before production, special tooling and preparation of special tools are required. Such preparatory work significantly accelerates the production process and reduces the cost of manufacturing parts. For the production of stepped shafts of complex shape, these machines are used.
Advantages of turning parts and workpieces
Each type of metal work is distinguished by its focus, and only metal turning can be called truly unique.
And here are a few advantages of making turning parts:
- Production of parts of the most complex geometry. We employ the most qualified turners, so they can produce the most complex parts.
- Precise manufacturing of parts. The accuracy of manufactured parts can be several micrometers.
- High quality of manufactured parts. Thanks to precise CNC machining, the result is a perfect product. If further processing is not necessary, then the product can be used immediately for its intended purpose.
- Minimum waste. Metal processing on CNC walls is economical. No more than 10% of the workpiece goes to waste, and this indicator is very good compared to other types of metal processing.
- Recycling of metal shavings. It is possible to collect the remaining waste after the use of lathes, their remelting, and use in the manufacture of shafts.
Features of metal turning
For high-quality performance of metal turning services, it is necessary to take into account all the features. For example, a metal must be cut evenly. The incisor speed must be stable (no decrease or increase) during the operation. Only in this way will perfect turning parts be obtained, in which the slightest inaccuracies and burrs will be absent.
An important role is played by the movements of the cutter relative to the workpiece. The cutter must move longitudinally or transversely relative to the statically fixed workpiece. The production process of shafts is kept under control at every stage of cutting.
CNC turning machines operate in automatic mode, but you should not leave them without control, as the quality of the products will depend on this.
The cost of metal turning services
The price of turning services is formed based on numerous parameters. For example, the final cost reflects the complexity of the product, and the type of material being processed. Therefore, it is quite understandable that the cost of turning work made of hard metal will be much higher compared to the processing of soft metal.
In addition, the cost is influenced by the volume of ordered products. Parts that are in mass production will cost less than parts that are produced in a single copy.
